A man who requires no introduction in the field of Pakistani advertising, the formidable Farooq Mannan, visual engineer extraordinaire, has forever reshaped the landscape of the ad world with his impossibly refined campaigns.
Launching his career in 2009 as freelance director and producer of his own production company, Formula Films, Farooq has worked tirelessly and relentlessly, directing over 350 TV commercials- a feat of productivity rarely witnessed. In addition to displaying an astonishing aptitude for unparalleled growth, Farooq has lent his innate prowess for visual eloquence across a plethora of multinational and local brands, often to record-breaking, history-making and breath-taking results. (Please see our Case Study of Q-Mobile, a local cellphone company which quickly transformed into market leader as a direct result of Farooq's in-house productions, wiping out its main competitor, Nokia Pakistan.)
Over the span of the last decade, Farooq has successfully worked with several top tier Pakistani advertising agencies (including the likes of IAL Satchi, JWT, Ogilvy, Orient-McCan, Manhattan, Interflow Communications, Prestige, Spectrum-Y&R, Adcom, Red Communications), as well as several local production houses (including Seeme, Stimulus, H20 Films, etc), bringing their visions to life via campaigns imbued in seemingly effortless elegance. He is also the only Pakistani director to have worked with a multitude of A-list Bollywood stars (i.e. Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, Irfan Khan, Imran Hashmi, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Zareen Khan).
So what does the future hold for The Mannan Phenomenon? Well, having conquered the ad world, Farooq is venturing into the film industry- specifically short films that have a big impact. We say there's no one better equipped to challenge the confines of society, delivering messages of gravitas with panache in order to affect the way people think, feel, and ultimately, act.
After all, the desire to effectuate change and engender the progress of humanity, epitomized by the evolution of heightened consciousness is the hallmark of a true visionary.
